Designated Survivor Renewed by ABC

ABC has renewed its freshman drama series Designated Survivor for a second season. The political thriller was the only new drama this season on ABC to not fail, the only survivor amidst the bombing of ABC's other new dramas, and it did even better than that, providing solid ratings even through the spring, proving it is the network's strongest drama not a part of the TGIT line-up.
