This Season's Prediction Record: 10-1-1
Last Season's Prediction Record: 10-2-0

This season was a little better than last season as the only sole miss was The Originals, and I had pushed last minute on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Here is my reasoning on why things are happening the way it is.

For the CW, this was a particularly low rated season, brought on by the abysmally low rated performances of Frequency and No Tomorrow. These were two easy cancelations that were pretty self-explanatory.

I was not surprised on The Originals' renewal. The Originals did better than I expected in the 8pm time slot this season. The only plausible explanations I can come up with are the unannounced ad rate overachievement, its relative ratings performance, and the fact that it is bad PR to cancel two vampire shows in one season, despite Julie Plec's behavior last season after Containment's cancelation. With The Originals renewed, the rule about ultra-low rated fourth season shows getting canceled after 70-80 episodes is officially null and void. Thus, this marks a change in the television landscape.

And Crazy Ex-Girlfriend lives on as the lowest rated show on broadcast for another season. Because next season is its third season, I think we'll see it again in season 4. Another season of haters will be grinding their teeth in agony. To point this out, Crazy Ex has non-linear ratings factors in its favor.

And with that, another season of CW Renew/Cancel is in the books! See you next season, folks!
