Once Upon a Time to End With Season 7 on ABC

Once Upon a Time's time has run out. The veteran drama series, now in season 7, will come to an end  at the conclusion of this season. The series is currently in its first season on Fridays after a lengthy run on Sundays. In its Friday slot, the show's performace can only really be described as terrible. It is currently averaging a 0.54, way down from last year's occupants, Last Man Standing and Dr. Ken, and also below fellow Friday occupants SHIELD, 20/20, and Inhumans. The series was mostly rebooted for its seventh and final season, with much of its cast departing. Once Upon a Time returns form hiatus to finish its run on March 2, following the completion of Child Support's run and the 2018 Winter Olympics. This was an incorrect prediction for the TV Ratings Guide.

NBC's 'Blindspot' (0.7) opened its third season on a new series low. It was a far cry from its year-ago debut (1.5) and still pretty far away from last year's finale (0.9). Nevertheless, the move to Fridays was always going to hurt it, so this result was expected. The veteran drama led into an original 'Dateline' (0.9) which was up two-tenths from last week.

ABC's 'Inhumans' (0.5) got back a precious tenth after last year's disastrous collapse. It was surrounded by 'Once Upon a Time' (0.5) and '20/20' (0.5), both were steady with last week's miserably low results.

CBS had a 'Michael Jackson Halloween' special at 8 (1.1). It easily beat out the average 'MacGyver' result and was the top non-sports program of the night. At 9, 'Hawaii Five-0' took the night off for an out-of-timeslot 'MacGyver' airing (0.8). The latter was steady with last week. At 10, 'Blue Bloods' (0.9) also matched last week.

FOX's line-up was preempted in favor of game 3 of the World Series (3.4). It was down five tenths from yesterday.

The CW had another helping of 0.2s from their dramedy line-up.

Friday TV Ratings 10/20/17: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Holds Steady as ABC Collapses to Horrific Numbers (UPDATED)

It was a pretty rough Friday all around, with CBS being the exception, as their shows managed to stay at respectable levels. ABC absolutely had the worst night of the bunch, with Once Upon a Time easily hitting a series low. Behind it, Inhumans sank to 0.4, which is borderline criminal. It ties Ten Days In the Valley this week, which is something that no show wants to do. Behind it, 20/20 held up a bit better than the other shows but still hit a lowly 0.5. Still, 20/20's 0.5 is the least of ABC's Friday problems. On NBC, Dateline lost two tenths and hit a soft 0.7, leading out of a True Crime repeat for the last time before Blindspot joins the NBC lineup next week. The CW had a duo of 0.2s, with Jane down a tenth and Crazy Ex steady. Fox stayed steady, and while it's undeniable that Hell's Kitchen has weakened, the show's still doing pretty well when you look at the competition. The same can not be said for the Exoricist, which continues to perform very weakly. CBS won the night with solid but uninspiring numbers from its procedurals. MacGyver remained the weak point, but staying steady for all of its season so far is an accomplishment. Hawaii Five-0 was the night's #1 show, and Blue Bloods dominated 10 PM. While the shows are noticeably lower than last year, these numbers are still quite good.

Finals Update: All shows held their preliminary numbers.

The CW finally unveiled their Friday line-up to pretty decent results (by their standards). Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (0.2) was steady with last year's debut at 8. At 9, Jane the Virgin (0.3) made to move to Friday in okay fashion. It tied its finale and beat a couple Monday datapoints.

ABC's Once Upon a Time (0.7) remained steady with its premiere in week 2. Inhumans (0.6) and 20/20 (0.6) each lost a tenth.

On CBS, MacGyver had its third 0.8 in a row, but Hawaii Five-0 (1.0) and Blue Bloods (0.9) each lost a tick.

Hell's Kitchen (0.8) inched back down on Fox while The Exorcist (0.4) was steady in morbid territory.

NBC had a drama encore (0.4) and Dateline (0.9).
