NBC is quite happy with Happy's Place, as they have renewed the freshman sitcom for a second season. Happy's Place is the second of NBC's comedies to be renewed this season, after fellow freshman comedy St. Denis Medical. This leaves only veteran comedies Night Court and Lopez vs Lopez awaiting their fates. Happy's Place has rated as NBC's #2 sitcom this season, with a 0.28 average that puts it towards the middle of NBC's programing in the key 18-49 demo. The series was Reba McEntire's return to sitcoms, her second attempt at a sitcom comeback following the short-lived Malibu Country. This show will now assuredly surpass that series, which lasted for a single twenty-episode season. This series reunites her with her Reba co-star Melissa Peterman, as well as her real-life partner and Big Sky co-star Rex Linn. Melissa Escobedo also stars in the series as the long-lost younger sister of McEntire's character. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
