Welcome to Questions of the Week, where we discuss some notable news from the week and ask what you think. Let us know your thoughts by voting in the polls and elaborating in the comments below!

1. At the end of the year, Warner Bros. Discovery will be putting none other than Channing Dungey in charge of their TV networks. Currently the chairwoman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Studios, Dungey previously served as the president of ABC Entertainment from 2016 through 2018, and thereafter worked alongside Shonda Rhimes and Kenya Barris as Netflix’s vice president of original content. Dungey’s ABC saw the expansion of popular genres for the network including family comedies, summer game shows, and Shonda Rhimes. Dungey also renewed and subsequently reversed the renewal of the Roseanne revival. Her time at Netflix was spent working with Shonda Rhimes and Kenya Barris on shows like Bridgerton and #blackAF. Now, she will be in charge of programming for Warner Bros. Discovery cable networks, including TBS, TNT, TruTV, Cartoon Network, HGTV, TLC, and OWN, amongst many others. What do you think of Channey Dungey becoming the next CEO of U.S. Networks?

2. After gaining popularity on Peacock, NBC will air the first episode of Mr. Throwback. The Steph Curry-starring mockumentary will air Thursday, September 12 at 9 pm, marking the first time a network will air a Peacock sitcom in prime time. How do you think Mr. Throwback will perform on NBC?

3. Family Guy reruns are headed to Comedy Central. This comes as part of a licensing deal between Disney, who owns Family Guy, and Paramount, who owns Comedy Central. Family Guy will still be syndicated on FX and FXX, with new episodes due to premiere on FOX in 2025. The cartoon also has a few specials due to premiere exclusively on Hulu. The deal is Comedy Central’s latest push to expand their animated offerings. Comedy Central’s forray into animation has included South Park for the past 27 years, and has recently expanded to also include the new series Digman and new episodes new episodes of the former Paramount+ original series Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head. Upcoming originals will include an animated Everybody Hates Chris reboot as well as supposedly a Ren & Stimpy reboot. Do you think Comedy Central is making the right move or wrong move by expanding the presence of cartoons on their schedule?
