ABC continues to lock down its drama programming for next season. Following the renewals of The Rookie and Will Trent earlier this week, ABC has announced a renewal of The Good Doctor, their veteran Monday night medical drama. Despite slipping 21% to a 0.32 average this season, the series remains ABC's #1 10 PM series this season, and remains a popular property on streaming and internationally. The Sony/ABC co-produced series surpassed 100 episodes this season and is heading into its seventh season. This season included the backdoor pilot for potential spinoff The Good Lawyer, a project that has yet to be picked up (a decision is expected in early May, when ABC sets its fall lineup). Freddie Highmore, Richard Schiff, Fiona Gubelmann, Christina Chang and Paige Spara are among the principal cast members on the series. This is a correct precaution for The TV Ratings Guide.
