The broadcast news keeps on coming, as freshman dramedy So Help Me Todd has become the latest in a string of early renewals. The pickup is a bit of a surprise, seeing as the series is one of the lowest-rated series on CBS - ranking second-last among scripted programs on the network. Its 0.35 average also heavily trails the average of the comedy hour that it replaced this season, but it has been extremely stable over the course of its first season thus far and received a quick full-season pickup in 2022. Todd is the third freshman series to be renewed this season, after Quantum Leap and fellow CBS drama Fire Country. Marcia Gay Harden, Skyler Astin, Madeline Wise and Inga Schlingmann star in the series.
