Ratings analysis: NBC said farewell to its signature summer series, as America's Got Talent (0.62, +0.05) aired a special two-hour Wednesday results show. In spite of airing out of its regular slot, the show rose slightly from last Wednesday, though it was down noticeably from its Tuesday performance show finale. At 8, Password (0.47) was steady for its all-celebrity charity finale episode, its first Wednesday episode in a month. CBS had another episode of Big Brother (0.75, -0.06) at 8, which topped the night. Big Brother was followed at 9 by the two-hour finale of The Challenge: USA (0.36, -0.04), which experienced minor slippage from last week's episode while improving the night from the SWAT repeat that aired at 10 last week. After weeks of two-hour episodes, MasterChef (0.46, +0.05) was back to a one-hour format for its season finale. Gordon Ramsay's just-renewed cooking reality neared its season high. Following the 'Chef finale was the fourth airing this week of new Susan Sarandon drama Monarch, which added another 0.24. ABC had a mixture of repeats and originals, with their Fall Preview Special (0.21) struggling to gain any traction after a repeat of The Conners (0.27). Encores of Emmy winner Abbott Elementary (0.23) and Home Economics (0.15) led into an atrocious performance by Soul of a Nation special Mi Gente: Groundbreakers and Changemakers (0.11). On the CW, Stargirl (0.08, +/-0.00) was rock steady, and was followed by repeats of World's Funniest Animals (0.07/0.05).
Finals Update: Password (+0.1), MasterChef (+0.1), Big Brother (+0.1) and the repeats of The Conners (+0.1) and Home Economics (+0.1) adjusted up.
