CBS has renewed MacGyver for a fifth season. The Friday procedural was benched indefinitely when CBS announced their fall 2019 schedule, which put its future in some doubt. Once the network announced that it would return in February and then canceled Hawaii Five-0, things looked up for the series and it's looked likely to return ever since. Its 0.67 average put it in the middle of CBS's scripted lineup this season, and its 6% year-to-year decline is only larger than Criminal Minds.
