ABC Renew/Cancel - April 27: Deception is Likely to be Canceled

After two airings this week, I have made a decision on Deception. Also, Quantico returned this week, and while I am predicting it here, I believe that ABC considers it a summer show, and I don't think we will hear about its fate in May. Next week is final predictions for the season, don't miss it! Upfronts are in sight!

Deception: After hitting a new low of 0.6 on Sunday, and only rising a tenth to 0.7 when airing after the Roseanne rerun marathon on Tuesday, I have moved Deception back into cancelation territory. I wouldn't be shocked with a renewal, but I don't think ABC needs to renew any of their failure freshman dramas, as they had two new dramas that worked (The Good Doctor and Station 19) to replace the two that are leaving (Scandal and Once Upon a Time) in terms of schedule space. If they don't want to launch as many new dramas next season, they may renew one, but there's also the possibility of an additional comedy hour, and if they do renew one, it's too hard to say what which one will be renewed for me to predict renewal for that one.

Quantico: On a new night, and premiering late in the spring this time around instead of in the fall, Quantico started off with a very disappointing 0.5. Why am I predicting renewal then? Last season, Quantico's ratings were just as (if not more) pathetic, yet it still got a renewal. So, it seems some external factor (probably international sales) is keeping the show alive, and that factor should take it to season four.
