ABC Greenlights Desperate Housewives Limited Series Pilot

Written with Vociferous Rejoice by Bridger Cunningham

Five years after the beloved ladies of Wisteria Lane exited ABC's Sunday landscape, ABC has greenlighted a limited run 8-episode pilot order for Desperate Housewives.  ABC unveiled the surprise Marc Cherry installment amidst its Sunday evening collapse.  The dramedy will explore what drove the ladies apart between the moments when each exited the street after Susan Delfino (Teri Hatcher) sold her home.  Marcia Cross (Bree), Eva Longoria (Gabrielle), Felicity Huffman (Lynette), Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos), Doug Savant (Tom), Scott Bakula (Trey), Kyle MacLachlan (Orson), Harriet Sansom Harris (Felicia), Brenda Strong (Mary Alice), Charlie Carver (Porter Scavo), Mark Moses (Paul), Vanessa Williams (Rene), Tuc Watkins (Bob) and Kevin Rahm (Lee) will all return for the limited-run series.  Noticably absent is Hatcher, who marqueed the series during its 2004-12 run.

The series has also added Jennifer Bini Taylor as Jennifer, the new tenant of Susan's old home, Kate Upton as Tom's vengeful daughter Kayla and Matthew Goode as new resident Taylor Perkins, who harbors a dark grudge against the ladies on the block.  The limited miniseries explores a darker exploration of the ladies' subsequent exits from the lane and why they drifted apart and never spoke again.  Release dates have not been released, though the limited-run series is expected to air April-May 2018.
