ABC Cancels Cristela and Forever, Galavant and Once Upon a Time Coming Back

Written by Oh Smoo:

With so many successful sitcoms, it shouldn't surprise spectators that the Freshman sitcom was not picked up by ABC for a second season. Per Deadline.com, ABC elected not to renew the fledging sitcom, which averaged a 1.0 rating on Friday evenings. While somewhat respectable for a Friday showing, Cristela is owned by Fox-TV. Also joining Cristela on the chopping block is freshman drama Forever, w hich was tasked with drawing viewers to ABC's troubled Tuesday 10pm timeslot. Forever performed stable, albeit anemically, in one of the worst timeslots on the network in recent years. Forever was produced by Warner Brothers.
In other related news, TV By the Numbers reported Galavant would be returning for a second season, as well as Once Upon a Time returning for a fifth season (as if it were in any danger!). This brings ABC's cancellation fatalities to five, as Forever and Cristela join Revenge, Selfie and Manhattan Love Story in ABC's exodus.
