The Great Indoors S1E6 Review

I'm almost ready to give up on The Great Indoors, and I will after this episode if it isn't good.

S1E6 "Going Deep"

Jack attempts to help Eddie after he gets divorced, which he is not very good at. The millennials attempt to walk the least number of steps, which is a pretty good idea to create humor. It is pretty funny when Clark keeps getting tricked.

Brooke helps Eddie, while Jack makes comments. Brooke discovers that her registry has expired because she has been engaged longer than three years. Mason discovers Clark likes Emma, so he helps him. This story kind of fizzled after being off to a great start.

This episode dealt too much with how insensitive of a person Jack is, pointing out how terrible of a main character he is. Also, it wasted a story with potential. After this week, I am done with The Great Indoors.

Score: 5/10

The Great Indoors S1E5 Review

This week The Great Indoors deals with criticism and diversity.

S1E5 "No Bad Ideas"

Jack conducts Clark's performance review, which isn't funny. What is funny is when Brooke turns to Mason and Emma to help with the interns, and she can't figure out what to say about why she chose them. Jack ends up having to have a person follow him around at work when Clark's mom comes in.

It is somewhat entertaining when Jack pretends to be interested in what Clark is saying. Brooke ends up putting labels on the intern candidates, which is really funny. It is pretty funny when Brooke discovers that a candidate has been chosen, and since then Mason and Emma haven't done any other work. Jack and Clark's story wraps up with little humor.

I really enjoyed Brooke's story, but Jack's story was unfunny. Despite a surprisingly solid week three, this show has gone back to being largely boring.

Score: 5.5/10

The Great Indoors S1E4 Review

This week, the millennials take a trip to the 90's in a way, as they clean out Jack's storage unit.

S1E4 "You Don't Know Jack"

Jack is nice to the millennials at work so that they will help him clean out his storage unit, which is pretty funny. They make the items into a timeline, which is really funny, but their lack of knowledge about many items is completely unrealistic. I was born in 1998 and knew what the things were, someone born in the early 90's definitely should have.

Everyone wants to know about Jack's ex-girlfriend, and he ends up telling them about her. Jack meets with her, and it is fairly funny as Emma crashes from all of the Red Bulls she drank. The rest of the episode isn't very funny, except for a conversation between Jack and Clark, dressed as young Jack.

The episode started out funny, but then ended up not being very funny after the first act.

Score: 6.5/10

The Great Indoors S1E3 Review

The first two episodes of The Great Indoors were not very funny, so I was not expecting much coming into episode three.

S1E3 "Step One: Shelter"

Brooke has to cut costs at the website, which leads to a great reaction from the rest, including her father. Jack has to find an apartment, which ends up requiring help from the millennials. Brooke talks to her father about being the bad cop, and there is a funny line about how her mother calls her "bad news Brooke". Clark tries to convince Jack to stay with him, which is really funny. Then, there is an offensive scene where Jack meets Koreans that Eddie is letting stay, which really annoyed me.

Jack goes to Clark's place, which is hilariously small, and has many great moments. Back at work, Brooke has to make a great save when she says she knows about Jack's sleep-bragging, and then Brooke finds that her dad is still not being the bad cop. Brooke's dad discovers he actually enjoys being bad cop, which is fairly entertaining, and the end in Clark's crowded apartment is pretty funny. Finally, the tag with the Koreans is just as bad as the original scene with them.

This episode was a major improvement upon the first two. The part with the Koreans was annoying, and some jokes weren't great, but overall it was a funny episode.

Score: 8.5/10

The Great Indoors S1E2 Review

I wasn't a big fan of The Great Indoors in the pilot episode, but it gets a chance at improving itself in the second episode.

S1E2 "Dating Apps"

At the start of the episode, Jack observes the use of dating apps, and he thinks that he will be able to do great with them. The young people he works with help him set up a dating profile, which has a couple of good jokes. However, I completely do not enjoy the scenes with his boss, as they are boring.

The date Jack goes on seems to go well, but then it turns out that she was trying to steal his identity. The group sets up a sting, and it is supposed to be funny when they chant "sting", but it isn't, and then they discover that she didn't try to steal his identity, someone else did because of a picture he posted. Clark is somewhat funny though, in his obsession with Jack and his awkwardness.

There were a couple of funny moments, but not that many. It was alright, like the pilot, not really any improvement.

Score: 5.5/10
