’Rise’ Canceled After One Season

NBC has canceled drama Rise after one season. The first eight episodes of the drama averaged a passable 0.86 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Rise is based on the book Drama High and was created by Jason Katims. The musical drama starred How I Met Your Mother alumni Josh Radnor, Marley Shelton, Rosie Perez, and Auli'i Cravalho. This was a correct prediction by the TV Ratings Guide.

Rise, Good Girls Get Premiere Dates

NBC has announced the premiere dates for two of its midseason dramas:

-Good Girls will premiere Monday, February 26 at 10pm after The Voice.

-Rise will premiere Tuesday, March 13 at 10pm, with the finale of This Is Us airing at 9pm

The Brave's first season will be capped at 13 episodes. No word yet on if Good Girls will move to another time slot following the premiere, though the guess is no.

Rise and The Brave Ordered to Series by NBC

And it begins! NBC has picked up Rise and The Brave (fka For God and Country) for the 2017-18 season. Early pick-ups seem to be a sign of confidence, so don't be surprised if one or both of these shows get the coveted post-Voice time slots in the fall. The Brave is a military drama that focuses on the brave citizens who fight in the military and their experiences, while Rise is set in a high school drama department in a lower-class district.
