Tuesday TV Ratings 9/17/24: High Potential Shows Potential in Premiere, Dancing with the Stars Starts Higher Than Season 32, American Sports Story Has Modest Start [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: ABC's Dancing with the Stars (0.73) remained a force on season premiere night,  improving on last year's (already strong) premiere (0.64) by 14%. After Dancing, new drama High Potential (0.35) showed some life in its series debut but retained less than half of its lead-in. NBC's America's Got Talent (0.43, +0.01) picked up a hundredth, while Fox's Beat Shazam (0.23, +0.02) inched up for its season finale. CBS aired repeats of FBI (0.21), FBI: International (0.20), and FBI: Most Wanted (0.17). The CW went with encores of The Conners (0.03/0.02/0.04/0.04). Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.
