Ratings Analysis: NBC's attempt at reviving Friday-night comedy was far from a success as the series premiere of 'Lopez v. Lopez' (0.31) looking resoundingly mediocre at 8. The George Lopez sitcom placed third in its timeslot and led into the season three debut of 'Young Rock' (0.26). 'Rock' returned with a new series low and was the lowest-rated big 4 broadcast of the evening. At 9, a rising edition of 'Dateline' (0.32, +0.06) managed to outpace the premieres of both comedies. On ABC, the Marvel-based special 'Black Panther: In Search of Wakanda' (0.30) trailed last week's Matthew Perry interview (0.47) and led into a sinking '20/20' (0.31, -0.07). Fox's 'WWE Smackdown' (0.48) was the top-rated broadcast as usual but was four-hundredths shy of the installment that aired two weeks prior (0.52). On CBS, 'SWAT' (0.43, +0.02) tied its season high while 'Blue Bloods' (0.35, -0.06) slipped to a new low. Sandwiched in-between, 'Fire Country' (0.42, -0.05) lost some steam but remained solid. 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.08, +0.02) and 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.10, +0.05) climbed higher on the CW.
Finals Update: 'Young Rock' (+0.1) and 'WWE SmackDown' (+0.1) adjusted up.
