Homer Simpson to Replace Nick Cannon as Host of The Masked Singer

Sitcom star and former Masked Singer contestant Homer Simpson has joined the singing competition series as its new host, Fox has confirmed today. Nick Cannon, the longtime host of The Masked Singer, has decided to exit the show in order to focus on his upcoming talk show. Homer has been selected from a list of potential candidates that included season two contestant Ana Gasteyer, The Resident creator Amy Holden Jones, Bless the Harts star Betty Hart, and The Masked Dancer producer Ellen DeGeneres. Homer was seen as the safest bet by Fox executives due to his long career with the network. He will make his hosting debut this fall, with a special one-hour premiere of The Simpsons airing behind The Masked Singer on premiere night.
