EXT. MANHATTAN SKYLINE - DAY
An urban area is situated in Staten Island in the middle of New York City.
EXT. NETWORK HEADQUARTERS - DAY
Network headquarters is positioned in the heart of New York City, where traffic is bustling through the morning sky.
Pedestrians are walking back and forth, seemingly to get to work.
EXT. NETWORK HEADQUARTERS PARKING LOT - DAY
Jesse gets out of his car with a briefcase in hand.
INT. BREAK ROOM - DAY
Oh well, that’s new.
Matt gathers coffee and sits at the table.
Suddenly, Ash enters the scene.
He crosses his arms.
ASH
Matt. Just the person I’d like to see on this fine morning.
MATT
Since when do you want to see me?
Ash shrugs.
ASH
Well, I just wanted to inform you of some changes that have been going on in the executive team as of late.
Jesse enters the break room with a smile on his face.
JESSE
How do, how do, my dudes?
Ash and Matt look at Jesse with puzzled looks.
Suddenly, Jesse’s smile fades into confusion.
JESSE
Can someone explain to me what’s going on?
ASH
Let’s sit down so we can talk about this.
Matt looks confused while Jesse and Ash take their respective places at the table.
Jesse places his briefcase on the table.
ASH
So here’s the situation. Kasey and Leah have decided to resign as executives.
MATT
What do you mean?
ASH
Leah wants to stay at home to raise our daughter. Kasey, however, is a writer on one of our network series.
JESSE
That’s nice for Kasey. But that’s a huge loss. Is Leah okay?
ASH
She’s in good spirits.
Charlie then enters the break room in a rush.
CHARLIE
Someone tell me what’s going on here…
MATT
Staff changes.
ASH
Could you let me guys finish?
Matt and Charlie look at each other.
Ash crosses his arms.
Jesse turns around.
Suddenly, a woman named NELLIE (34) enters the break room.
She turns towards Charlie.
Charlie freezes.
NELLIE
Hello there. I’m sure we’ve met before.
CHARLIE
What do you mean?
NELLIE
I’m Nellie, the newest network consultant.
Charlie turns towards Jesse.
On the next episode of Network, we learn more about Nellie and her line of work.
