Blackish Renewed for Season 6, Spinoff Series Mixed-ish Ordered

ABC has renewed Blackish for a sixth season. Though the show has been notably weaker this season with a 0.8 average, the show is one of the few Disney/ABC-owned comedies to have already reached syndication (the others being Modern Family and Fresh Off the Boat), meaning that the show brings money the network beyond its initial airings. The show has also received critical acclaim, and continues to score Emmy nominations, one of the rare broadcast series to do so. Emmy nominees Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross star in the series, along with Marcus Scribner, Jenifer Lewis, Miles Brown and Marsai Martin. This was a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.

In additional news, ABC has also ordered spinoff series Mixed-ish. The series will follow Tracee Ellis Ross's character as a young girl, and will star Arica Himmel, Tina Sumpter, and Gary Cole.
