EXT. CYBERIA - DAY
It’s a pale white desert wasteland. A “sun” shines harshly.
There is a flash of light and Joel, Bailey, Tyler, and Greg appear.
GREG
This… looks like Cyberia.
Joel taps his gauntlet and points in front of him.
JOEL
This way.
The group starts walking.
GREG
Hey, I just wanted to apologize.
JOEL
For what?
GREG
For what happened earlier in the conference room.
JOEL
Forget it, we’re cool.
Suddenly, behind Tyler, a faceless grey humanoid materializes from the ground and wraps its hands around Tyler.
TYLER
Guys! Guys!
The Bot tightens its grip and Tyler begins pixelating. Joel materializes his Katana Gun and shoots the Bot disintegrating it.
Around them, more Bots start to materialize. The group materialize their weapons. The Bots close in, and the group swing their weapons. Greg mows down five Bots with his chainsaw while shooting them with the minigun. Tyler shoots bolts of blue energy from his staff while Joel and Bailey stab and slice Bots.
As more Bots begin to materialize, the group becomes overwhelmed.
There is a flash of golden-brown light and an energy wave disintegrates the Bots.
TYLER
The hell was that?
BAILEY
Susan?
The group turns around and standing in front of the group, is Susan, Jacqueline, and Hudson,
JOEL
Jacqueline?
Jacqueline smiles at him and the two runs towards each other and hug.
TYLER
Hudson! You’re alive!
Tyler hugs Hudson.
Susan walks up to Greg and places her hand on his cheek.
SUSAN
I’ve missed you.
GREG
Oh my gosh… Sugar Mama!
Susan smiles and kisses Greg.
BAILEY
Sorry to interrupt the reunions but could one of y’all explain how the hell you’re all alive.
SUSAN
I saved Jacqueline and Hudson before their minds died with their bodies.
GREG
How could you have done that?
SUSAN
When the Programmer created the Refugium, he unintentionally created an intelligence. I maintain the structural integrity of the simulated reality. Without me, the… digitality of the Refugium would be more obvious.
TYLER
But you’re also Sugar Mama?
SUSAN
A form I took to watch over you. I have been with you since the beginning. You just never knew it.
JOEL
(To Jacqueline)
So why are you and Hudson here. If you survived, why didn’t you let us know?
JACQUELINE
We wanted to but… we’ve been stuck here.
HUDSON
We’ve tried to leave but our programming’s been damaged. That’s how we ended up here.
GREG
(To Susan)
Can’t you repair their code?
SUSAN
I’ve tried. The Refugium isn’t the only thing that was damaged in the Green Sky. When the Refugium is restored, their programming can be repaired.
BAILEY
The Programmer’s repairing the antivirus. We’re here to save Daniel.
SUSAN
So are we. Cyberia is far more dangerous than you realize. There are Bots everywhere. We’ll escort you all to where Daniel is.
The group nods. There is a loud thud. Another thud. The group turns around and walking towards them, is a giant olive-green humanoid robot carrying a giant gun.
ULTIMUS ELITE
Coast is clear. No Bots in sight.
JOEL
I’m sorry. What in the world is that!
ULTIMUS ELITE
The name’s Ultimus. Ultimus Elite.
JOEL
So, what, you’re a Transformer?
ULTIMUS
What's a Transformer?
JOEL
Robots in disguise. Do you turn into a vehicle? You look like you do?
ULTIMUS
Yeah, I do.
JOEL
So… do you turn into a truck?
ULTIMUS
What! No, I don’t turn into a truck. That would be so useless. I turn into a tank.
JOEL
A tank! You turn into a tank!
JACQUELINE
(To Ultimus)
He really likes tanks.
ULTIMUS
Really? Well, looks like you and I are going to be good friends.
SUSAN
We should be going. Keep your weapons out and follow me.
The group including Hudson, Jacqueline, and Ultimus follow Susan as she leads them through Cyberia. Joel and Jacqueline hold hands. Tyler walks with Hudson. Bailey walks near Greg and Susan.
SUSAN
I was worried about you. After what happened with Santa Claus.
GREG
I almost didn't make it.
SUSAN
And yet, you did. You're strong. That’s what I like about you.
Susan wraps her hand around Greg.
BAILEY
How much longer?
SUSAN
We are close.
The group inches closer to a large blurred barrier.
SUSAN
Daniel is through that barrier.
ULTIMUS
Oh shit.
SUSAN
What?
Ultimus taps his eyes and they zoom in behind them in the distance.
ULTIMUS
There’s a swarm of Bot’s heading towards us.
SUSAN
How long do we have?
ULTIMUS
We won’t make it.
JACQUELINE
We can buy them time.
HUDSON
Sounds like a plan.
JOEL
What about you all?
JACQUELINE
We’ll be fine. I promise.
SUSAN
She’s right, we will. Now go.
The group nods and they start running towards the barrier.
SUSAN
Ultimus, would you like to take some of them out before they get here.
ULTIMUS
Do you even have to ask?
Ultimus begins compressing. His metallic joints connecting and disconnecting until… he is a tank.
Ultimus, now in his tank form fires shell after shell at the approaching Bot swarm. He takes several out, but they continue to charge at them relentlessly.
Jacqueline materializes dual katanas and Hudson materials a battle ax. Susan glows a golden brown. Ultimus returns to his humanoid state. The Bot swarm reaches them, and they battle.
Meanwhile, the group runs towards the barrier. Without hesitation, Bailey jumps through and disappears. Joel, Tyler and Greg stop and turn around. In the distance they watch Susan, Jacqueline, Hudson and Ultimus fight the Bot swarm.
GREG
We have to help them.
JOEL
I know… but Daniel needs us.
Greg nods and the three jump through the barrier, and disappear.
