SUNSET VALLEY

Episode 6: "One of Us"
FADE IN.
FADE IN.
EXT. VOID BELOW SUNSET VALLEY – NIGHT
Darkness. The world above is fractured, pieces of Sunset Valley floating in the distance.
ELLIOT MARSH, JONAS KEENE, MARGOT VANCE, DR. SYLVIA LANG, and SHERIFF BILL HARLOW are falling.
The golden light from the cracks above swirls around them, distorting everything. Elliot reaches for something—anything—but the air itself feels like water, pulling them deeper.
Then—everything STOPS.
They are standing.

EXT. UPSIDE-DOWN SUNSET VALLEY – NIGHT
They are in another version of Sunset Valley. But it’s wrong. The buildings are upside down, the sky is pitch black, and the town is silent.
Elliot stares around, breath unsteady.
ELLIOT
Where are we?
Jonas kneels, touching the ground. It rippled, like liquid.
JONAS
Not where. When.
Margot grips her notebook, flipping through pages. The words inside shift and change, rewriting themselves.
MARGOT
I think we’re in-between.
A soft FOOTSTEP echoes.
They all turn.
Standing at the end of the street—a man in a black suit. Pale, hollow eyes. A face that looks familiar, but wrong.
JONAS
Who the hell is that?
The man tilts his head, studying them.
PALE MAN
You don’t belong here.
Elliot swallows hard.
ELLIOT
Yeah, we get that a lot.
The Pale Man steps forward.
PALE MAN
One of you does.
Everyone exchanges looks.
MARGOT
What does that mean?
The Pale Man raises a hand. The air around them distorts.
And suddenly—another figure steps out of the shadows.
It’s Sylvia. But not the one standing with them.
Another Sylvia.
Jonas tenses.
JONAS
Not this again.
The Real Sylvia shakes her head, stepping back.
SYLVIA
No. No, I’m me.
The Other Sylvia smiles.
OTHER SYLVIA
Are you sure?
The Pale Man nods toward her.
PALE MAN
One of you doesn’t belong. One of you is part of the loop. And you don’t even know it.
Elliot narrows his eyes.
ELLIOT
What are you saying?
The Pale Man gestures.
PALE MAN
One of you is not real.
A heavy silence.
Jonas clenches his fists.
JONAS
That’s bullshit.
PALE MAN
Is it?
The air shimmers. The town around them flickers—images flashing like a broken reel of film.
For a brief moment—Elliot sees himself, standing alone. No one else there.
Then—the others reappear.
Elliot stumbles back, breathing hard.
ELLIOT
What the hell was that?
The Pale Man steps closer.
PALE MAN
Truth.
Margot grips her notebook tighter.
MARGOT
We need to leave. Now.
The Pale Man smiles.
PALE MAN
You can’t run from what you are.
The ground SHAKES. The golden cracks spread.
Then—Sheriff Harlow suddenly GASPS, clutching his chest.
Jonas catches him as he drops to his knees.
JONAS
Bill!
Harlow looks up, eyes flickering gold. His face twists in confusion—then fear.
SHERIFF HARLOW
I… I don’t think I’m real.
CUT TO BLACK.
