This Is Us: This show has never been a hit, but it's just getting embarrassing at this point. It's consistently being out-rated by its lead-out The Village, and is even doing worse than its already-canceled lead-out New Amsterdam. It also doesn't have the critical acclaim that The Village has, so NBC wouldn't even want to renew it as Emmys bait. NBC doesn't have many shows, and their schedule is virtually empty, but this show certainly won't be a part of it. It's a CERTAIN CANCELLATION.
Abby's: This show debuted last week to strong sampling. With ratings so solid (making it tied with AP Bio and I Feel Bad as the top NBC comedy), it's hard to imagine why they kept it on the bench for so long in favor of now-canceled flops like Superstore and Will & Grace. Last season's cancellation of hits Great News and Champions made no sense, but with new management, NBC won't make the same mistake again. It starts as a CERTAIN RENEWAL
The Village: This show just keeps getting more and more impressive. In week two, it improved in the ratings and hit an all-time high for NBC in this slot. This is all with an incredibly low lead-in from This Is Us. There's no reason to believe that NBC will let this success go, and I'm upping to to CERTAIN RENEWAL. I'd even bet on fall schedule placement for the series.
