& EDISON'S DORM - NIGHT
The episode
begins with Andrew leaving the dorm to go tell Sarah how he feels. Edison is
alone. There is a knock at the door. He answers it. It is Brittaney.
EDISON
Britt? What’re
you doing here?
BRITTANEY
I need to talk
to someone and my roommate is completely wasted.
EDISON
Well you've
come to the right place if you want to talk. Come on in.
Brittaney
enters the dorm room and takes a seat on Edison’s bed. Edison sits next to her.
BRITTANEY
Paul was such
a nice guy.
EDISON
Yes... yes he
was.
BRITTANEY
On our first
date, he bought me a rose.
EDISON
He bought you
a thorny plant. That should’ve been a sign.
Brittaney
chuckles.
BRITTANEY
Apparently he
met the girl he was kissing at the game in his communications class. I
should've known he was cheating. He kept saying he couldn't visit or that he
wasn't available for me to come visit him. Why aren't there any good guys in
the world?
EDISON
I'm a good
guy.
Brittaney
laughs.
BRITTANEY
Yes, yes you
are.
Edison and
Brittaney look at each other. They lean in and kiss. They then start to make
out. Andrew walks in.
ANDREW
What the
hell?!
Edison and
Brittaney pull apart surprised.
EDISON
Oh hey bud.
Where’d you go?
Andrew doesn’t
answer and gestures at Edison and Brittaney.
EDISON
I know what
this looks like and it’s exactly what you think it is.
ANDREW
Really? Cause
it looks like you two were just sucking face.
EDISON
Yeah that's
why I said it’s exactly what you think it is.
ANDREW
So what? Are
you two now a thing?
EDISON
Yes.
BRITTANEY
But we’re
gonna take it slow.
EDISON
What?
BRITTANEY
We'll talk
about it later.
EDISON
Ok. Anyway,
where'd you go?
Andrew takes a
seat at his desk chair.
ANDREW
I went to tell
Sarah that I liked her.
EDISON
Really? How'd
it go?
ANDREW
Well, I met
Calvin.
EDISON
Who's Calvin?
ANDREW
Her boyfriend.
EDISON
Damn. Sorry
dude.
ANDREW
Thanks.
EDISON
You know a
good friend told me that if you like someone, you should be their friend first
and then when they break up with their partner then you can ask them out.
ANDREW
You actually
listened to my advice.
EDISON
What advice?
ANDREW
The thing you
just said.
EDISON
What about it?
ANDREW
I said that to
you.
EDISON
No you didn't.
ANDREW
You said a
good friend once said. I’m that friend.
EDISON
Mmmm I’m
pretty sure my friend Gary told me that.
ANDREW
Who the hell
is Gary?
EDISON
He’s in my
political science class. I told him how I liked Brittaney and he gave me some
advice.
ANDREW
I gave you
that advice!
BRITTANEY
I’m gonna go.
Brittaney
leaves. Andrew and Edison continue arguing.
THE NEXT DAY
INT. POLITICAL
SCIENCE CLASS - DAY
PSCI PROFESSOR
Ok class.
Remember this week is winter finals. The final for this class is a big
percentage of your overall grade. I hope you’ve been paying attention. Ok we’ll
end here for the day.
Students get
up to leave. Andrew and Sarah exit the classroom together. They walk down the
building hall.
SARAH
Hey, Calvin
and I were thinking of having a group study session tonight. You, Edison,
Brittaney and us.
ANDREW
Sounds good.
SARAH
Great.
ANDREW
So you’re
still dating Calvin.
SARAH
Yes. Why
wouldn’t I be. He’s great. On our last date he put his jacket around me. Isn't
that romantic?
ANDREW
I guess.
SARAH
So I’ll see
you at the library?
ANDREW
Yeah.
INT. LIBRARY -
NIGHT
Andrew,
Edison, and Brittaney enter the library.
EDISON
{To Brittaney}
The only
reason I agreed to this is because YOU asked.
BRITTANEY
I care about
you passing your classes.
Edison and
Brittany chuckle and kiss.
ANDREW
Is this gonna
be a regular thing?
EDISON
Someone’s in a
mood.
ANDREW
I just wanna
get this over with.
EDISON
Because the
girl you like is dating a sexy frat guy?
ANDREW
No… I just
want to get a good night sleep.
BRITTANEY
{To Edison}
I think it’s
because of what you said.
INT. LIBRARY
STUDY ROOM - NIGHT
Andrew,
Edison, and Brittaney enter a study room. Sarah and Calvin are sitting next to
each other at a large table.
SARAH
Hey guys.
BRITTANEY
Hey.
Andrew,
Edison, and Brittaney take seats at the table.
SARAH
Guys, this is
Calvin. He’s my boyfriend.
Edison and
Brittaney pretend to be surprised.
EDISON
Whaaaaaaat?
You have a boyfriend? No waaaay.
Sarah gives
Edison a perplexed look.
BRITTANEY
Nice to meet
you Calvin.
CALVIN
You too. And
you're obviously Edison.
EDISON
What do you
mean “obviously”?
CALVIN
{To Andrew}
I know you.
Andrew right?
ANDREW
Yeah.
CALVIN
Sarah told me
about y’all.
ANDREW
Funny she
never mentioned you.
BRITTANEY
Let’s get
started. Which class should we start with first?
CALVIN
I was thinking
political science? We all take it.
The group
begins studying. They ask each other questions and quiz each other. They laugh.
They are having a good time. Everyone except Andrew who can’t help but glare at
Calvin.
After a while
of studying, Andrew gets up from his seat and gathers his things.
EDISON
Where're you
going?
ANDREW
I’m tired.
Also, I have my first final tomorrow.
SARAH
Tomorrow’s
history. Remember, we don’t have tests and quizzes.
ANDREW
Well still I’m
gonna turn in. I’ll see y’all later.
Andrew leaves.
Sarah has a worried look on her face.
SARAH
I’ll be right
back.
Sarah leaves
and exits the library catching Andrew outside.
EXT. CAMPUS -
NIGHT
SARAH
Hey!
Andrew stops
and turns around.
SARAH
What’s wrong?
ANDREW
Nothing, I’m
fine.
SARAH
Really?
ANDREW
Yeah.
SARAH
Ok. Just
wanted to make sure.
Andrew nods
and leaves.
INT. LIBRARY
STUDY ROOM - NIGHT
Sarah returns
to the study room. Calvin is gathering his things.
CALVIN
Hey I gotta
go. Frat emergency.
SARAH
Oh. Ok. See
yeah.
CALVIN
See yeah.
Calvin kisses
her and then leaves.
EDISON
{To Sarah}
Where’d you
go?
SARAH
I just wanted
to make sure Andrew was ok.
BRITTANEY
And?
SARAH
He’s fine.
Edison and
Brittaney look at each other.
SARAH
What?
EDISON
Nothing.
SARAH
You know
something don’t you.
EDISON
No.
SARAH
Edison. Tell
me. What’s going on with Andrew?
EDISON
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
SARAH
Edison if you
don’t tell me, I’ll burn your secret stash of Milky Ways
EDISON
You wouldn’t
dare.
SARAH
Try me.
EDISON
{Gulps}
Fine. Andrew
is-
BRITTANEY
Mad because
Edison and I were making out in their dorm.
Edison looks
at Brittaney who gives him a look.
SARAH
You two are
together?
EDISON
Yes.
SARAH
{To Brittaney}
But when we
got coffee, you said you couldn’t stop crying and that you still weren’t over
Paul.
EDISON
Whoa whoa
whoa. You said what?
BRITTANEY
I was
obviously acting.
EDISON
Ok. Just
making sure.
SARAH
So that’s
what’s up with Andrew?
BRITTANEY
Yes.
SARAH
Ok.
INT. ANDREW
& EDISON’S DORM - NIGHT
Andrew lies in
bed on his phone. Edison enters.
EDISON
Sarah’s
concerned about you. She asked me what was wrong with you. Threatened me.
Brittaney told her that you were upset about Brittaney and I making out.
ANDREW
But I’m happy
you two are together.
EDISON
It was that or
tell her that you like her. And speaking of that, why are you giving her the
cold shoulder?
ANDREW
I’m not.
EDISON
Yeah you are.
I saw the way you looked at her and Calvin. Like Jim looking at Pam.
ANDREW
She has a
boyfriend now. They’re good together.
EDISON
So that’s it
huh? She has a boyfriend so you might as well give up?
ANDREW
Exactly.
PAUSE
EDISON
You know this
is your own fault.
ANDREW
Excuse me?
EDISON
You could’ve
told her how you felt. You had more than enough opportunities to do so. But no.
You were either too scared to or it wasn’t the “right time”.
ANDREW
You're
absolutely right. It is my fault. I missed my chance and I have to live with
it.
EDISON
Hey man I
didn’t mean it. I’m still a little shaken over Sarah’s threat. She threatened
my Milky Ways man.
ANDREW
Well, now I
just need to move on.
Edison walks
over to his bed. He lifts up his matress revealing a pile of Milky Ways. He
grabs one and tosses it to Andrew.
EDISON
Hope that
helps.
ANDREW
Thanks.
MONTAGE
FINALS WEEK
-Andrew,
Sarah, Brittaney, and Edison take their finals.
-Edison and
Brittaney go on dates.
-Andrew and
Sarah grow distant. Sarah notices this.
-Sarah and
Calvin laugh on a date.
INT. ANDREW
& EDISON’S DORM - DAY
Andrew puts
clothes in a suitcase and looks around the dorm to make sure he has everything
for winter break. Sarah appears in the doorway.
SARAH
Hey.
ANDREW
Hey.
SARAH
Edison already
leave?
ANDREW
Yeah.
SARAH
Man this
semester went by fast.
ANDREW
Yeah.
SARAH
Lots of fun
memories. Remember trivia night?
Andrew
{Smiling}
Yeah. Remember
the busted party our first night here?
SARAH
You mean the
first night I met you and Edison? Of course I remember. How could I forget?
ANDREW
Makes you
wonder what next semester will be like.
SARAH
Who knows.
ANDREW
You leaving
today?
SARAH
I’m on my way
out.
ANDREW
Same.
SARAH
Walk me to my
car?
Andrew bows.
ANDREW
It would be my
honor.
Sarah
chuckles.
Andrew and
Sarah enter the dorm building elevator.
SARAH
I gotta say, I
actually think Edison and Brittaney make a cute couple.
ANDREW
Same.
SARAH
Edison can
never know I said that.
ANDREW
My lips are
sealed.
SARAH
You’re the
only one who’s single.
ANDREW
Yep.
SARAH
Don’t worry,
you’ll find someone.
Andrew looks
at Sarah. He leans in and kisses her. Sarah is taken aback. The elevator dings.
The doors open and they pull apart. Calvin is standing in front of them.
CALVIN
Hey, thought
I’d help you load your car.
SARAH
{Clears Throat}
Uh yeah. Yeah
that would be great. Thanks.
Calvin takes
her bag and leaves.
ANDREW
Sarah I’m
sorry I-
Sarah kisses
Andrew.
