'Al' was down by four-hundredths for its season two closer as 'Roll' dropped in both half-hours for the last episodes of its one and only season. 'Young Sheldon' (0.66, +0.02) picked up two-hundredths for its season finale and topped the night simultaneously while 'Bull' (0.34) held even for its penultimate outing at 10. Over on ABC, 'Station 19' (0.58, +0.10) and 'Big Sky' (0.25, +0.03) enjoyed healthy gains for their season finales. 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.60, +0.11) experienced the largest rise of the three dramas but will not have its finale until early June. NBC's 'Law & Order' (0.39, -0.04) and 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.59, -0.02) had small declines for their finales, but 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.51, +0.03) was able to rise a bit for its 10PM closer. Fox was up with 'MasterChef Junior' (0.38, +0.03), but 'Welcome to Flatch' (0.15, -0.03/0.12, -0.01) posted yet another new low for its 9:30PM episode. Thursday TV Ratings 5/12/22: Station 19 and Big Sky Hit New Lows, United States of Al Rises After Cancellation, Young Sheldon Leads (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC dramas 'Station 19' (0.48, -0.12), 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.49, -0.16), and 'Big Sky' (0.22, -0.04) all crashed to new series lows, something that has become increasingly common in the past few days. On CBS, 'Young Sheldon' (0.64, +0.02) and recently-canceled 'United States of Al' (0.50, +0.08) rose by two-hundredths and eight-hundredths respectively. 'How We Roll' (0.40/0.32) was noticeably higher than last week (0.27), but the 9:30 episode couldn't even beat out the 10PM edition of 'Bull' (0.34, -0.01). NBC's 'Law & Order' reboot (0.43, +0.05) recovered a good bit, but 9PM drama 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.61, -0.03) and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.48, -0.08) went in the other direction. On Fox, 'MasterChef Junior' (0.35, -0.03) ticked down to a new low and was followed by a double-pump of 'Welcome To Flatch' (0.18/0.13). The second of those two episodes marked a new low for the already meager 'Flatch'. The CW had repeats of 'Walker' (0.05) and 'Legacies' (0.03).

Finals Update: 'Station 19' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 4/28/22: NFL Draft Drops from 2021 but Remains Top Show Overall, How We Roll and MasterChef Junior Fall, Law & Order: SVU Steady (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's broadcast of the '2022 NFL Draft' (0.86) was about 18% lower than last year's showing (1.05) but nonetheless beat out all programs on the other four networks. On CBS, 'Young Sheldon' (0.62, +0.04) and 'United States of AL' (0.42, +0.01) enjoyed some gains as 'How We Roll' (0.35/0.32) dipped by three-hundredths for the second of its two episodes. Ratings Analysis: CBS comedy 'Ghosts' (0.56, -0.04) closed out a successful first season with a modest dip, shedding four-hundredths on a week-to-week basis. 'United States of Al' (0.41, -0.05), 'How We Roll' (0.35, -0.08), and 'Bull' (0.31, -0.07) also lost some ground as 8PM anchor 'Young Sheldon' (0.58, +0.01) inched up. 'Call Me Kat' (0.29, -0.03) and 'Welcome to Flatch' (0.16, -0.01) trickled down on Fox, but 'MasterChef Junior' (0.41, +0.01) picked up a precious hundredth. How-We-Roll-Still-CBS-Publicity-H-2022

Ratings Analysis: Debuting in the challenging 9:30PM slot, CBS's new sitcom 'How We Roll' (0.34) completely struck out on premiere night. This rating goes below every episode of previous timeslot occupant 'B Positive' and proves that this comedy probably won't have a long shelf life. Although 'How We Roll' bowled a gutter ball, 'Ghosts' (0.56, +0.04) managed to rise by four-hundredths in the 9PM hour. 'Young Sheldon' (0.58, -0.04), 'United States of Al' (0.44, -0.04), and 'Bull' (0.29, -0.07) all dipped at 8, 8:30, and 10 respectively. ABC declined across the board with 'Station 19' (0.56, -0.05), 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.55, -0.09), and 'Big Sky' (0.26, -0.07). Fox's 'MasterChef Junior' (0.41, +0.01) picked up a hundredth for the second week in a row, but sitcoms 'Call Me Kat' (0.29, -0.04) and 'Welcome to Flatch' (0.16, -0.04) shed four-hundredths apiece. 'Walker' (0.10, -0.01) shaved off a hundredth on the CW as 'Legacies' (0.06, +0.02) grew by two-hundredths. NBC went with encores of 'Law & Order' (0.29), 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.33), and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.30).

Finals Update: 'Young Sheldon' (+0.1), 'Station 19' (+0.1), and 'Ghosts' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Ratings Analysis: CBS's 'United States of Al' (0.35, -0.12) crashed to a series low for a special 9:30PM episode, retaining less than 70% of its 'Ghosts' lead-in (0.52, -0.03). 'B Positive' (0.45, +0.01) took over the 8:30PM slot and picked up a hundredth in the process. Though 'Positive' appeared healthier, its retention of 'Young Sheldon' (0.60, -0.03) was barely an improvement over 'Al'. At 10, drama 'Bull' (0.32, -0.09) slipped to its lowest rating for a 2022 installment. On NBC, episode two of the 'Law & Order' revival (0.50, -0.24) plunged into middling territory after last week's robust launch. 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.65, -0.03) and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.48, -0.04) fared much better in comparison, only falling by a few hundredths each. ABC's 'Station 19' (0.68, -0.07) and 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.63, -0.15) dealt with sizable declines while 'Big Sky' (0.29, -0.01) only shed a hundredth. Fox's 'Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer' (0.26, -0.04) tied its series low as 'Call Me Kat' (0.20, -0.05) and 'Pivoting' (0.15, -0.04) descended to their poorest ratings to date. 'Walker' (0.12, +0.03) and 'Legacies' (0.08, +0.01) had modest upticks on the CW.

Finals Update: 'Station 19' (+0.1), 'Law & Order' (+0.1), and 'Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Ratings Analysis: Though it aired without the help of its 'Ghosts' lead-in, CBS's 'B Positive' (0.50/0.46) remained on-par with the week prior for an hour-long event. The 9PM episode tied its season high while the 9:30 installment was only four-hundredths below last Thursday's outing. Earlier in the evening, 'Young Sheldon' (0.73, -0.10) lost a tenth as 'United States of Al' (0.54, +0.01) gained a hundredth. A rerun of 'Bull' (0.28) capped off the night. ABC's broadcast of 'Truth & Lies: The Last Gangster' (0.49) was nearly a tenth higher than the week-ago 'Women of the Movement' finale (0.40). A rerun of 'Promised Land' (0.18) that followed was only four-hundredths lower than its Monday premiere (0.22). 'Call Me Kat' (0.26, -0.05) and 'Pivoting' (0.22, -0.04) slipped to new lows on Fox, but 'Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer' (0.33, +0.01) picked up a hundredth. NBC went with repeats of 'The Blacklist' (0.25), Law & Order: SVU' (0.31), and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.27). The CW's 'Walker' (0.09, -0.05) crashed to a series low and led into a 'Legacies' encore (0.06).

Finals Update: 'B Positive' (+0.1) and 'Call Me Kat' (+0.1) adjusted up.

579x325-Q100-77d58e9b65567970d09880e6de0d46f1

Ratings Analysis: CBS enjoyed renewed prosperity in the new year as 'Young Sheldon' (0.74, +0.08), 'Ghosts' (0.70, +0.16), and 'Bull' (0.38, +0.11) all shot up to season highs. Freshman sitcom 'Ghosts' experienced the largest surge of the pack and had its strongest showing to date in both the Adults 18-49 demographic and total viewers. Sophomore comedies 'United States of Al' (0.50, +0.05) and 'B Positive' (0.46, +0.04) remained largely unimpressive at 8:30 and 9:30 respectively but each picked up a few hundredths. On NBC, 'The Blacklist' (0.42, +0.11) and 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.62, +0.05) improved from their lackluster fall finales, but 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.51, -0.11) lost a tenth at 10. ABC's new miniseries 'Women of the Movement' (0.43) and docuseries 'Let the World See' (0.40) were fairly modest on premiere night but still outdid Fox's series debut of 'Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer' (0.39). The CW offered up reruns of 'Walker' (0.09) and 'Legacies' (0.06).

Finals Update: 'Ghosts' (+0.1) and 'B Positive' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 12/2/21: Annie Live! Solid for NBC, Alec Baldwin Interview Performs Modestly, Young Sheldon and Ghosts Dip, Great Christmas Light Fight Ends on a Low (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Though the incident made worldwide headlines at the time, ABC's unscripted Alec Baldwin interview (0.45) only came in at a modest 4th place in the 8pm timeslot. Whether as a result of the tepid lead-in or not, 'The Great Christmas Light Fight' (0.26, -0.11) dropped by more than a full tenth for its finale. NBC had far more to write home about as the musical 'Annie Live!' (0.92) more than doubled the Baldwin interview and was the top non-sports broadcast of the evening. On the football front, Fox's 'Cowboys v. Saints' NFL game (4.77) was more than a full point above the one from two weeks prior (3.72). Though CBS's 'Ghosts' (0.55) matched its last outing, comedies 'Young Sheldon' (0.64, -0.09), 'United States of Al' (0.46, -0.03), and 'B Positive' (0.41, -0.04) all forfeited a few hundredths. 'Bull' (0.34, +0.03) actually managed to rise by three-hundredths in the 10pm hour. The CW's 'Walker' (0.12, +0.02) picked up two-hundredths while 'Legacies' (0.08, -0.01) gave back a hundredth.

Finals Update: 'NFL: Cowboys v. Saints' (+1.8), 'Alec Baldwin Unscripted' (+0.1), 'United States of Al' (+0.1) and 'Ghosts' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 11/18/21: Young Sheldon, Ghosts and NFL Hold Steady, Grey’s Anatomy Ticks Down (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Fox's Thursday dominance remained intact as their 'Patriots v. Falcons' NFL game (3.72, +0.10) went a solid tenth higher the week-ago 'Ravens v. Dolphins' match-up (3.62). In a very distant second place, CBS's 'Young Sheldon' (0.73, +0.04) picked up four-hundredths in the lead-off position. Afterwards, 'United States of Al' (0.49, +0.06), newbie 'Ghosts' (0.55, +0.05) and sophomore sitcom 'B Positive' (0.45, +0.07) all made slightly larger gains than 'Sheldon'. An encore of 'Bull' (0.27) capped off the evening for the Tiffany network. Over on ABC, 'Station 19' (0.68, +0.04) managed to rebound a bit, but 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.61, -0.09) and 'Big Sky' (0.30, -0.04) went in the opposite direction. 'Grey's Anatomy' tied its series low while 'Big Sky' created a new one. NBC's 'The Blacklist' (0.32, +0.03) rose by a couple ticks and led into reruns of 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.29) and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.27). On the CW, 'Walker' (0.10, -0.02) and 'Legacies' (0.09, -0.03) both lost some ground.

Finals Update: 'NFL: Patriots v. Falcons' (+1.6), 'Station 19' (+0.1), 'Ghosts' (+0.1), and 'B Positive' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 11/11/21: Station 19 Steady with Grey’s Anatomy Crossover, SVU Ticks Down, Ghosts and Young Sheldon Stable (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Buoyed by a highly-anticipated crossover event, ABC's 'Station 19' (0.64, +0.02) and 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.70, +0.07) were up by two-hundredths and seven-hundredths respectively from the last time they aired in late October. At 10, 'Big Sky' (0.34, -0.01) failed to latch onto that momentum but only found itself losing a hundredth. On CBS, 'Young Sheldon' (0.69, +0.03) was on the rise but 'United States of Al' (0.43, -0.02), 'Ghosts' (0.50, -0.03), 'B Positive' (0.38, -0.02), and 'Bull' (0.31, -0.01) dealt with some minor slippage. The non-'Sheldon' comedies all posted new season lows while drama 'Bull' tied its previous low. NBC's 'The Blacklist' (0.29, -0.05) and 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.60, -0.06) were both down by nearly a tenth. 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.52, -0.01) was noticeably steadier in comparison. On Fox, the 'Ravens v. Dolphins' NFL game (3.62) was close to four-tenths above the week-ago 'Jets v. Colts' game (3.25). Over on the CW, 'Walker' (0.12, -0.02) lost two-hundredths while 'Legacies' (0.12, +0.04) gained four-hundredths, causing the two dramas to find themselves on equal footing.

Finals Update: 'NFL: Ravens v. Dolphins' (+1.5) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 11/4/21: Queen Family Singalong Does OK, Young Sheldon and Ghosts Slip, SVU and Organized Crime Stable After Week Off (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The 'Queen Family Singalong' (0.48) posted a rather modest result on ABC, coming in third in its timeslot and outpacing the week-ago 'Toy Story of TERROR!' special (0.41). A pair of 'Queens' encores (0.25/0.22) that came after were not far off from the rating of the drama's last original episode (0.28). CBS's entire comedy lineup was in freefall, with sitcom 'United States of Al' (0.45, -0.08) taking the biggest blow at 8:30. 'Young Sheldon' (0.66, -0.05), 'Ghosts' (0.53, -0.04) and 'B Positive' (0.40, -0.03) had smaller declines while drama 'Bull' (0.32, +0.01) picked up a hundredth in the 10pm timeslot. On NBC, 'The Blacklist' (0.34, +0.04), 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.66, +0.02), and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.53, +0.03) all gained a few ticks. This marks the first time that 'Blacklist' has risen this season and the second time for the 'Law & Order' pair. Over on the Fox network, the 'Jets v. Colts' NFL game (3.25) was over 40% behind last week's 'Packers v. Cardinals' outing (5.59) but still well above the other broadcasts of the evening. 'Walker' (0.14, +0.03) and 'Legacies' (0.08, +0.01) were up by three-hundredths and one-hundredth respectively on the CW.

Finals Update: 'NFL: Jets v. Colts' (+1.5), 'Young Sheldon' (+0.1), and 'Law & Order: SVU' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 10/28/21: Toy Story of Terror! and Toy Story 4 Modest on ABC, Young Sheldon and United States of Al Rise, The Blacklist Dips (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's comedy block made notable gains throughout the evening, with 'Young Sheldon' (0.71, +0.08) and 'United States of Al' (0.53, +0.09) each climbing by nearly a full tenth.  'Ghosts' (0.57, +0.04) and 'B Positive' (0.43, +0.03) rose by a few hundredths in the 9pm hour, and drama 'Bull' (0.31) made no movement in either direction at 10. The news was no as bright on NBC as 'The Blacklist' (0.30, -0.09) dropped by a tenth from last week's lackluster return. A rerun of 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.26) capped off a disappointing night for the peacock network. Fox won big with its 'Packers v. Cardinals' NFL broadcast (5.59), the telecast blew the week-ago 'Broncos v. Browns' game (3.72) out of the water. ABC's showing of Halloween special 'Toy Story of Terror!' (0.41) went close to 60% below the 1.0 it garnered the last time it aired over two years ago (10/22/19). Afterwards, the broadcast debut of the 2019 sequel 'Toy Story 4' (0.35) was met with little fanfare and more than half that audience had departed by the time the 10:30pm encore of 'The Wonder Years' (0.17) rolled around. Over on the CW, 'Walker' (0.11) returned from a hiatus that lasted more than two months and shed a hundredth from its last showing. 'Legacies' (0.07) was down by two-hundredths from the week prior.

Finals Update: 'Ghosts' (+0.1) and 'Toy Story 4' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 10/21/21: Law & Order: SVU Slips for 500th Episode, NFL, Ghosts and B Positive Also Dip, Grey’s Anatomy and Young Sheldon Stable (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: NBC's 'The Blacklist' (0.39) returned for its ninth season in fairly unremarkable fashion. This was just a single hundredth below last year's premiere (0.40) and higher than a good majority of its spring 2021 episodes but much of that can be attributed to the move from the Friday night graveyard to a more high-priority, Thursday timeslot. The arrival of 'The Blacklist' seemed to negatively impact the 500th episode of 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.64, -0.08) and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.50, -0.05) but the pair ultimately lost just a few hundredths in the process. CBS's lineup was down across the board, with new entry 'Ghosts' (0.53, -0.08) taking the biggest hit after last week's stunning uptick. Struggling sophomores 'United States of Al' (0.44) and 'B Positive' (0.40) forfeited six-hundredths apiece. 'Young Sheldon' (0.63) fell by two hundredths at the start of the lineup while 'Bull' (0.31) closed out the evening by losing one-hundredth. Over on ABC, 'Station 19' (0.62, +0.06), 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.63, +0.02), and 'Big Sky' (0.35, +0.01) all picked up a couple ticks. Fox's 'Broncos v. Browns' NFL game (3.72) was four tenths behind the week-ago football telecast. On the CW, the finale of 'Coroner' (0.05) dropped two-hundredths but 'Legacies' (0.09) actually rose by three-hundredths from last week's unsatisfactory return.

Finals Update: 'NFL' (+1.6) and 'Big Sky' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 10/14/21: B Positive Returns Down, Ghosts Holds Steady in Week Two, SVU Rises, Grey’s Anatomy Stable at Low (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Sophomore sitcom 'B Positive' (0.46) made a soft landing for its CBS premiere, down a few hundredths from its May finale but relatively on-par with its spring 2021 performance. 'Positive' could not blame its lead-in for its shortcomings since 9pm anchor 'Ghosts' (0.61) somehow managed to rise by five hundredths from a debut that was already rather promising. In the 8pm hour, 'Young Sheldon' (0.65) dropped by the same amount that 'Ghosts' rose by while 'United States of Al' (0.50) gained a single hundredth. 10pm drama 'Bull' (0.32) garnered its lowest rating on record. On ABC, 'Station 19' (0.56, -0.02) and 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.61, -0.03) inched down to new series lows, but 'Big Sky' (0.34, +0.02) was able to stop its slide at 10. NBC's 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.72) got back a tenth while 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.55) held even. An 'SVU' rerun (0.38) posted a passable rating in the lead-off position. Fox's 'Buccaneers v. Eagles' NFL game (4.09) was down by just eight hundredths from last week's game. The CW's 'Legacies' (0.06) premiered with a new series low out the gate. Its 'Coroner' lead-in (0.07, +0.01) ticked up in the 8pm timeslot.

Finals Update: 'NFL' (+1.8), 'Young Sheldon' (+0.1), 'Station 19' (+0.1), 'B Positive' (+0.1) and 'Law & Order: SVU' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 10/7/21: Ghosts Starts Decently, Young Sheldon Returns Steady, Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 Sink (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's new comedy 'Ghosts' (0.56) got off to a respectable start for its 1-hour premiere at 9. The sitcom grew markedly from its 'United States of Al' lead-in and was only a few hundredths away from longtime staples like 'Grey's' and 'SVU'. 'Young Sheldon' (0.70) was flat with last year's debut for its 8pm return while 'Al' (0.49) returned on the lower-end of its spring 2021 delivery. Aging drama 'Bull' (0.35) hit a new series low for its sixth season premiere in the 10pm slot.
