Earlier in the night, The Price Is Right At Night (0.35) placed third in its 8 PM time slot. On Fox, MasterChef Junior (0.24, -0.01) and So You Think You Can Dance (0.10, -0.03) declined for their respective finales. Jeopardy! Masters (0.41, +0.12) bounced back on ABC and led into repeats of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (0.26) and Press Your Luck (0.20). NBC's The Voice (0.41, +0.02) inched up, while Weakest Link (0.27, -0.03) weakened. On the CW, All American (0.09, -0.02) slipped.

Masters (0.42, +0.12) rebounded after Friday's poor showing. The Voice (0.39, -0.02) dipped on NBC, but Deal or No Deal Island (0.32, +0.02) was up for its finale. MasterChef Junior (0.25, +0.02) improved on Fox, while So You Think You Can Dance (0.13, -0.01) lost a hundredth. CBS re-ran Young Sheldon (0.27/0.25), NCIS (0.20), and NCIS: Hawai'i (0.20). All American (0.11, -0.01) ticked down on the CW.

Ratings Analysis: ABC's American Idol (0.45) dropped by nearly two-tenths from Sunday's episode but was still the highest-rated program of the night. At 10, The Interrogation Tapes (0.20, +0.08) bounced back for its finale. On NBC, The Voice (0.30, -0.11) collapsed and took down Deal Or No Deal Island (0.25, -0.04) with it. CBS's The Neighborhood (0.41, +0.08), Bob Hearts Abishola (0.31, +0.04), and NCIS (0.38, +0.02) were all up, but NCIS: Hawai'i (0.32, 0.00) was stuck at last week's rating. MasterChef Junior (0.25, -0.04) and So You Think You Can Dance (0.13, -0.02) declined on Fox. All American (0.09, 0.00) was stable on the CW.

Ratings Analysis: CBS's The Neighborhood (0.42, 0.00) matched its last original and topped the 8 p.m. hour, but Bob Hearts Abishola (0.33, -0.03) and NCIS: Hawai'i (0.31, -0.01) slipped. In-between those two, NCIS (0.43, +0.05) rose significantly for the 1000th episode of the NCISVerse and was the top-rated program of the night. American Idol (0.36, -0.11) collapsed on ABC, but The Interrogation Tapes (0.24, +0.04) improved in the 10 p.m. slot. NBC's The Voice (0.41, -0.01) shed a hundredth, while Deal or No Deal Island (0.31, +0.06) surged at 10. MasterChef Junior (0.27, -0.02) dipped on Fox, but So You Think You Can Dance (0.15, 0.00) was stable, as was The CW's All American (0.09, 0.00).

Monday TV Ratings 3/25/24: The Bachelor Hits Multi-Season High for Finale, The Neighborhood Also Rises, The Voice and NCIS Slide (Final Ratings w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's The Bachelor (0.80, +0.21) soared to a multi-season high on finale night and was over two-tenths higher than it was last week. CBS's sitcoms stood strong against the Bachelor surge, as The Neighborhood (0.49, +0.07) and Bob Hearts Abishola (0.35, +0.07) were both way up when compared to their last episodes. However, dramas NCIS (0.36, -0.09) and NCIS: Hawai'i (0.30, -0.10) completely collapsed. The Voice (0.42, -0.11) and Deal or No Deal Island (0.26, -0.07) also crumbled on NBC. Fox was up with MasterChef Junior (0.29, +0.01) but down with So You Think You Can Dance (0.15, -0.03). Ride (0.03, -0.01) lost a hundredth for its CW finale.

Monday TV Ratings 3/18/24: Oprah Weight Loss Revolution Special Strong, The Bachelor Slides but Still Leads, Bob Hearts Abishola Hits Another New Low (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: Oprah Winfrey's weight loss special (0.43) proved to be a ratings winner for ABC, even though it was over two-tenths lower than last week's Bachelor. The Bachelor itself (0.59, -0.09) took a hit, likely due to being bumped up an hour, but was still the night's top broadcast. On NBC, The Voice (0.53, +0.01) and Deal or No Deal Island (0.33, +0.01) were both up by a hundredth. Bob Hearts Abishola (0.28, -0.02) slipped to another new low on CBS, possibly because its Neighborhood lead-in (0.30) was in repeat-mode. MasterChef Junior (0.28, +0.03) and So You Think You Can Dance (0.18, +0.05) climbed higher on Fox. The CW was also up with Ride (0.04, +0.02).

Finals Update: The Bachelor (+0.1) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 3/11/24: Bob Hearts Abishola Sinks to New Low, Deal or No Deal Island Rebounds, The Bachelor Continues to Lead (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: Though The Neighborhood (0.42, +0.02) was actually up from the last time it aired, CBS's Bob Hearts Abishola (0.30, -0.08) crashed to a new low in the 8:30 time slot. On NBC, Deal or No Deal Island (0.32, +0.07) staged quite a comeback after its week-ago tumble, even though The Voice (0.52, +0.01) was only a hundredth higher than last week. The Bachelor (0.68, -0.01) shed a hundredth on ABC and led into the finale of Bad Romance (0.22, -0.03). MasterChef Junior (0.25, -0.03) and So You Think You Can Dance (0.13, -0.03) slipped on Fox, as did Ride (0.02, -0.01) on the CW.

Finals Update: The Bachelor (+0.1) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 3/4/24: Abysmal Return for So You Think You Can Dance, Bob Hearts Abishola Rises in Double Airing, Deal or No Deal Island Sinks (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: MasterChef Junior (0.28) had a passable return to the Fox network, but So You Think You Can Dance (0.16) completely bombed in the 9 p.m. time slot. CBS sitcom Bob Hearts Abishola (0.40/0.38) held its own without its Neighborhood lead-in and was up from last week's episode (0.35). NCIS (0.45, +0.02) grew alongside Abishola, but NCIS: Hawai'i (0.40, -0.01) inched down. The Bachelor (0.69, +0.06) and Bad Romance (0.25, +0.02) improved on ABC. The Voice (0.51, -0.01) lost a hundredth from last Monday's premiere, while Deal or No Deal Island (0.25, -0.11) completely fell off a cliff. Ride (0.03, -0.01) slipped on the CW.

Finals Update: The Bachelor (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 8/10/22: Americas Got Talent Sinks in First Results Show, So You Think You Can Dance Rises for Finale, Big Brother Leads (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: NBC mainstay 'America's Got Talent' (0.54) crumbled for its first results show and went a full two-tenths below Tuesday night's performance (0.74). Despite the trouble in 'AGT' land, 'Password' (0.46, -0.02) shed just two-hundredths from Tuesday's premiere and retained a stellar 85% of its lead-in the 18-49 demographic. After this data point, it seems like 'Password' may be a much stronger show than it appeared to be on day one. The 'Chicago PD' rerun (0.25) that followed topped the 10PM hour. On CBS, 'Big Brother' (0.79, 0.00) tied last Wednesday's rating as 'The Challenge: USA' (0.42, +0.04) picked up a few ticks. The 10PM encore of 'SWAT' (0.20) was also a bit higher than usual. Fox's 'MasterChef' (0.35, -0.01) shaved off a hundredth at 8 and placed third in its timeslot. In the 9PM hour, struggling 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.26, +0.03) grew by three-hundredths for its season finale. The CW's 'Mysteries Decoded' (0.03, 0.00) held even but 'Wellington Paranormal' (0.01, -0.01) lost a precious hundredth. The 'Wellington' original was bested by a repeat of itself (0.02) that aired directly after it. ABC had reruns of 'The Conners' (0.29), 'The Goldbergs' (0.18), 'Abbott Elementary' (0.18), 'Home Economics' (0.16), and 'Press Your Luck' (0.22).

Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1), 'Password' (+0.1), 'So You Think You Can Dance' (+0.1), and the repeat of 'Home Economics' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 8/3/22: CMA Fest Solid, Big Brother Leads, So You Think You Can Dance Hits New Low (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's 'CMA Fest' (0.51) proved to be far stronger than their usual sitcom rerun lineup and was the second highest-rated program on Wednesday night. CBS staple 'Big Brother' (0.79, +0.04) picked up four-hundredths as 'The Challenge: USA' (0.38, -0.04) declined by that same amount. The 10PM 'SWAT' encore (0.17) was at the same level as the week prior. Fox's 'MasterChef' (0.36, -0.06) and 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.23, -0.06) lost six-hundredths apiece, with 'Dance' sinking to a brand-new series low. NBC's repeats of 'Chicago Med' (0.26), 'Chicago Fire' (0.34), and 'Chicago PD' (0.37) all improved on a week-to-week basis. 'Mysteries Decoded' (0.03, -0.02) dipped on the CW while 'Wellington Paranormal' (0.02, 0.00) and the 'Wellington' rerun (0.02) held steady.

Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1), 'MasterChef' (+0.1), 'The Challenge: USA' (+0.1), and the repeat of Chicago Med (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 7/27/22: Big Brother Leads, The Challenge: USA Slightly Up, MasterChef and So You Think You Can Dance Dip (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's 'Big Brother' (0.75, +0.05) was up by five-hundredths on a week-to-week basis while 'The Challenge: USA' (0.42, +0.02) inched up to its highest rating to date. At 10, the 'SWAT' repeat (0.17) lost a hundredth when compared to the week-ago one. 'MasterChef' (0.42, -0.06) and 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.29, -0.01) both declined on Fox, as did 'Wellington Paranormal' (0.02, -0.02) on the CW. 'Wellington' led into a rerun of itself (0.02) and was dwarfed by the 8PM edition of 'Mysteries Decoded' (0.05, 0.00). ABC had decent repeats of 'The Conners' (0.27), 'The Goldbergs' (0.20), and 'Press Your Luck' (0.24). The encores of 'Abbott Elementary' (0.16) and especially 'Home Economics' (0.12) paled in comparison. NBC went with reruns of 'Chicago Med' (0.24), 'Chicago Fire' (0.25), and 'Chicago PD' (0.28), with each one building on the previous.

Finals Update: The repeat of 'The Conners' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 7/20/22: The ESPYS Rise from 2021 Low, Big Brother Leads, MasterChef Sets New Season High (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The '2022 ESPYS' (0.42) rose by a whopping 75% from the 2021 ceremony (0.24) that aired in an undesirable Saturday timeslot. Despite that impressive gain, ABC's broadcast of the awards show only ranked third in its timeslot. On CBS, 'Big Brother' (0.70, +0.04) and 'The Challenge: USA' (0.40, +0.04) both grew by four-hundredths when compared to last week's episodes. The 10PM repeat of 'SWAT' (0.18) was two-hundredths higher than its week-ago counterpart. 'MasterChef' (0.48, +0.04) climbed to a new season high on Fox, but 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.30, -0.03) widened the gap between itself and 'Chef' by slipping further. On the CW, 'Wellington Paranormal' (0.04, 0.00) was stable on finale night and was followed by a repeat of itself (0.04) that posted the same rating. Earlier in the evening, 'Mysteries Decoded' (0.05, 0.00) also matched its week-ago delivery. NBC had another helping of 'Chicago Med' (0.27), 'Chicago Fire' (0.30), and 'Chicago PD' (0.29) encores.

Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1), 'MasterChef' (+0.1), and the repeat of 'Chicago Med' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 7/13/22: MasterChef Up After Week Off, Big Brother and The Challenge USA Slip (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's 'Big Brother' (0.66, -0.15) suffered quite a blow in week two when compared to last Wednesday's return (0.81) while newbie 'The Challenge: USA' (0.36, -0.05) had a much softer decline. A rerun of 'SWAT' (0.16) that followed found itself in last place in the 10PM hour. After taking a break last week, Fox was up across the board with 'MasterChef' (0.44, +0.03) and 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.33, +0.05). ABC's reruns of 'Shark Beach with Chris Hemsworth' (0.28) and 'Shark Tank' (0.29/0.26) were modest at best. NBC went even lower than the alphabet network with encores of 'Chicago Med' (0.24), 'Fire' (0.23), and 'PD' (0.24). 'Mysteries Decoded' (0.05, +0.01), 'Wellington Paranormal' (0.04, +0.01), and the rerun of 'Wellington' (0.03) all grew by a hundredth on the CW.

Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1) and 'The Challenge: USA' (+0.1) adjusted up, as did repeats of 'Shark Beach' (+0.1) and 'Shark Tank' at 10 PM (+0.1).

Wednesday TV Ratings 6/15/22: Kung Fu Ends on a New Low, Stanley Cup Heavily Up from 2021 (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The CW's 'Kung Fu' (0.05, -0.02) wrapped up its second season on a sour note by sinking to its lowest rating on record. This number is 50% below its premiere from just three months ago (0.10) and serves as the program's least-watched episode in terms of total viewership. Earlier in the night, 'The Flash' (0.08, -0.04) dropped by four-hundredths and tied its series low. ABC easily topped the evening as its broadcast of the first 'Stanley Cup Finals' game (1.33) was a runaway success and came in over two times higher than NBC's game three telecast from the year prior (0.66). On Fox, 'MasterChef' (0.41, -0.03) forfeited three-hundredths, but 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.31, +0.04) rose by four-hundredths. CBS got a strong rating out of a rerun of 'The Price Is Right Celebrates 50 Years' (0.44) and a mediocre number out of a 'SWAT' encore (0.28). NBC had repeats of 'Chicago Med' (0.31), 'Chicago Fire' (0.29), and 'Chicago PD' (0.27), with each subsequent rerun losing two-hundredths from the previous one.

Finals Update: '2022 Stanley Cup Game 1' (+0.4) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 6/8/22: NBA Finals Slip, MasterChef and Let’s Make a Deal Primetime Tick Down (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The third game of the 2022 'NBA Finals' (3.65, -0.06) declined by six-hundredths when compared to game two (3.71) but was a hair above the rating that game one posted (3.63). On the other hand, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night' (0.51, +0.16) and 'NBA Countdown' (0.84, +0.15) were both way up from their dismal Sunday ratings. On CBS, 'Let's Make a Deal Primetime' (0.34, -0.07) lost seven-hundredths from last week and was bested by a rerun of 'The Price Is Right At Night' (0.43) that aired after it. A 10PM 'SWAT' encore (0.26) was three-hundredths lower than the week prior. Over on Fox, 'MasterChef' (0.44, -0.02) and 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.27, -0.07) lost some ground after last week's above-average outings. NBC had its usual rerun trio of 'Chicago Med' (0.29), 'Chicago Fire' (0.26), and 'Chicago PD' (0.30). Superhero drama 'The Flash' (0.12, +0.03) and marital-arts based 'Kung Fu' (0.07, +0.01) grew a touch on the CW.

Finals Update: 'NBA Finals Game 3' (+1.0) and repeats of 'Chicago Fire' (+0.1) and 'SWAT' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night' (-0.7) and 'NBA Countdown' (-0.3) adjusted down.

Wednesday TV Ratings 6/1/22: MasterChef Climbs Higher After Weak Premiere, The Price Is Right At Night Encore Leads (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Likely as a result of facing much less competition than it did a week ago, Fox's 'MasterChef' (0.46, +0.12) grew by an impressive 35% in the Adults 18-49 demographic and topped the 8PM hour in the process. At 9, 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.34, +0.09) also enjoyed a nice boost and bounced back to tie its premiere rating from two weeks ago. On CBS, the primetime edition of 'Let's Make a Deal' (0.41) was roughly two-tenths lower than its last installment from January (0.60) and led into a night-topping encore of 'The Price Is Right At Night' (0.52). At 10, a 'SWAT' rerun (0.29) narrowly won its hour. ABC reshuffled its repeat lineup to resemble what Wednesdays will look like in the fall, meaning that 'The Conners' (0.34) took over 8PM and 'Abbott Elementary' (0.21) was the 9PM anchor. 'The Goldbergs' (0.21) returned to 8:30 as 'Home Economics' (0.16) stayed put in the 9:30 timeslot. A repeat of 'Press Your Luck' (0.21) was dead-last in the 10PM hour. NBC had reruns of 'Chicago Med' (0.32), 'Chicago Fire' (0.35), and 'Chicago PD' (0.28). The CW barely registered at all with encores of 'The Flash' (0.04) and 'Kung Fu' (0.03).

Finals Update: 'MasterChef' (+0.1) and the repeat of 'Home Economics' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 5/25/22: Survivor Sinks for Finale, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD End Higher, The Great American Tag Sale Mediocre (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's 'Survivor' (0.79, -0.13) suffered a sizable blow for its season finale and was unable to be crowned as the highest-rated program of the evening. That honor instead went to 'Chicago Fire' (0.80, +0.11), with the NBC drama growing by more than a full tenth for its finale. 'Fire was sandwiched by rising editions of 'Chicago Med' (0.67, +0.04) and 'Chicago PD' (0.74, +0.09). 'Med' and 'PD' also rose for their finales but not as much as 'Fire'. On Fox, 'MasterChef' (0.34) had a dismal start to the season, and 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.25, -0.09) lost a tenth from a premiere that was already rather lackluster. ABC also had a night of uninspiring ratings with 'The Great American Tag Sale' (0.35) and 'The American Rescue Dog Show' (0.25). 'The Flash' (0.09, -0.03) and 'Kung Fu' (0.06, -0.02) crumbled on the CW.

Finals Update: 'Survivor' (+0.1), 'Chicago Med' (+0.1), and 'The Great American Tag Sale' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 5/18/22: The Masked Singer and The Conners End Up, Home Economics Rises for Finale, So You Think You Can Dance Returns Low

Ratings Analysis: ABC had almost nothing but positive news on finale night as 'The Wonder Years' (0.33, +0.04), 'The Conners' (0.42, +0.01), 'Home Economics' (0.29, +0.05), and 'A Million Little Things' (0.24, +0.05) all rose for their season closers. Longtime sitcom 'The Goldbergs' (0.39, -0.03) was the only show not to rise on the alphabet network, with the comedy sinking to a new series low for the final episode of its ninth season. 'Survivor' (0.92, +0.14) had the largest week-to-week gain of the evening on CBS and led into the 'Beyond the Edge' finale (0.32, +0.01). 'Edge' picked up a single hundredth and was followed by a rerun of 'FBI' (0.21) that went a tenth below it. Fox's 'The Masked Singer' (0.71, +0.05) gained five-hundredths for its finale, but the season premiere of 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.34) retained less than half of that rating. 'Dance' was a tenth lower than the last time it aired back in 2019 (0.4). On NBC, 'Chicago Med' (0.63, -0.01) lost a hundredth, 'Chicago Fire' (0.69, +0.01) gained one, and 'Chicago PD' (0.65, -0.02) shed two-hundredths. 'The Flash' (0.12, +0.01) and 'Kung Fu' (0.08, +0.01) each got a hundredth back on The CW.

Finals Update: 'Survivor' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 9/16/19: Dancing with the Stars Steady with Last Premiere, American Ninja Warrior Rises for Finale (UPDATED)
