Monday TV Ratings 5/11/26:The Neighborhood Jumps to Season High for Series Finale, American Idol Also Ends Higher, CIA Dips [+ Analysis]

CBS sitcom The Neighborhood (0.43, +0.16) ended its eight-season run by soaring to a new season high, and that appeared to help DMV (0.30, +0.10) close out its one-season run on a high note, as it jumped all the way back up to the high it set in its October debut (0.30). Later, FBI (0.28, 0.00) held steady, and CIA (0.17, -0.03) declined. ABC had its own finale surge as American Idol (0.56, +0.12) ended its season with a significant increase (though NBA on NBC (1.37) was still on top overall). Fox aired repeats of The 1% Club (0.18) and The Quiz with Balls (0.16). Sullivan's Crossing (0.06, +0.01) climbed higher on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

On Fox, The 1% Club (0.13, -0.10) and The Quiz with Balls (0.13, -0.06) both had alarming declines, as did CBS comedies The Neighborhood (0.27, -0.10) and DMV (0.20, -0.08). But the trend was different with CBS's dramas as FBI (0.28, +0.02) and CIA (0.20, +0.03) both rose. NBA on NBC (1.16) was in the lead once more. On ABC, American Idol (0.44, +0.02) was up, while The Rookie (0.25, 0.00) held steady for its finale. Sullivan's Crossing (0.05, +0.01) ticked up on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

NBC's NBA Playoffs broadcast (1.12) topped the night, but there was a small decline from the games that aired on Sunday. Over on CBS, The Neighborhood (0.37, +0.04), DMV (0.28, +0.09), and FBI (0.26, +0.04) all rose, while CIA (0.17, -0.02) declined. American Idol (0.42, +0.05) and The Rookie (0.25, +0.02) were both up on ABC, as were Fox game shows The 1% Club (0.23, +0.04) and The Quiz with Balls (0.19, +0.04). Sullivan's Crossing (0.04, -0.02) cooled down on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat.

Opposite NBC's broadcast of the NBA Playoffs (0.90/0.86), American Idol (0.37, -0.08) dealt with a sharp decline on ABC, but The Rookie (0.23, +0.01) ticked up. CBS's The Neighborhood (0.33, -0.03), DMV (0.19, -0.04), and FBI (0.22, -0.03) all slipped, but CIA (0.19, +0.02) rose. Fox game show The 1% Club (0.19, 0.00) was steady, while The Quiz with Balls (0.15, -0.10) plummeted. The CW aired the season premiere of Sullivan's Crossing (0.06). Key: (P) = premiere. On NBC, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins (0.21, +0.02) was up at eight and then rose again at 8:30 (0.24, +0.03) for its season finale. At nine, The Voice (0.25, +0.07) was also up, markedly so. On ABC, American Idol (0.45, +0.03) and The Rookie (0.22, +0.01) climbed higher. The Neighborhood (0.36, -0.01) ticked down on CBS, but DMV (0.23, +0.02) rose. Later in the night, FBI (0.25, -0.01) dipped, while CIA (0.17, 0.00) held steady. On Fox, the premiere of The 1% Club (0.19) was below last week's Extracted finale (0.24). After, The Quiz with Balls (0.25) built on its lead-in substantially. On the CW, Wild Cards (0.05, +0.03) enjoyed a finale boost. Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

St. Denis Medical (0.25, -0.03), Reggie Dinkins (0.23, -0.02), and The Voice (0.19, -0.04) all slipped on NBC, with the latter falling to a shockingly low level. On CBS, The Neighborhood (0.34, 0.00) held steady, but DMV (0.21, -0.05), FBI (0.26, -0.07), and CIA (0.17, -0.03) declined. ABC's American Idol (0.42, +0.01) and The Rookie (0.20, +0.01) ticked up. Extracted (0.20, -0.01) and Memory of a Killer (0.14, -0.01) each lost a hundredth on Fox, as did the CW's Wild Cards (0.03, -0.01). Key: (R) = repeat. 

CBS Renew/Cancel Week 19: Watson Scrubs Out, the DMV Shutters Its Doors, and CIA Looks to Remain a Central Part of CBS’s Schedule + Renew/Cancel March Madness Voting Continues

CBS closes the door on another season of scripted predictions, handing out a renewal and two cancellations since our last update. Keep reading for my thoughts on what their recent decisions mean for the network's future.

DMV and Watson Canceled by CBS

CBS has announced the fates of its final remaining scripted series for the 2025-26 season, canceling freshman comedy DMV and sophomore drama Watson with several episodes left to air for both series. With the renewal of midseason drama CIA earlier this week, things were already looking bleak for these two fall debuts, which had already been left out of CBS's mass renewal earlier this year. DMV has disappointed in its first and only season, with 73% retention from The Neighborhood, poor results in its few 8 PM airings in December, and poor delayed ratings. Watson, meanwhile, struggled in its first season to begin with, and returned even lower as it moved to Mondays at the start of its second season. While it rose with a higher lead-in on Sunday, that wasn't nearly enough for it to survive after rating as CBS's second-lowest-rated scripted program, with minimal delayed gains. The cancelation of both series, along with the previous cancellation/final season of The Neighborhood means that FBI will be the sole show returning from CBS's fall Monday lineup, in a season where only three CBS scripted series were canceled. Monday TV Ratings 3/16/26: The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins and St. Denis Medical Tick Up Again, American Idol Also Gains, The Rookie and CIA Down a Tick [+ Analysis]

NBC received some good news in the sitcom department as St. Denis Medical (0.38, +0.05) and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins (0.32, +0.02) both rose for the second week in a row. But despite the comedy gains, The Voice (0.25, -0.02) declined at nine. American Idol (0.41, +0.05) was up on ABC, but The Rookie (0.22, -0.01) ticked down. The Neighborhood (0.42, +0.01) and DMV (0.27, +0.02) were on the rise on CBS, but CIA (0.19, -0.03) shed some of last week's rating. FBI (0.35, 0.00) was steady at nine. Fox's Extracted (0.24, +0.01) and Memory of a Killer (0.14, +0.01) gained a hundredth apiece. The CW aired repeats of Wild Cards (0.03/0.02). Key: (R) = repeat.

Monday TV Ratings 3/9/26: St. Denis Medical and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins Rise, CIA Ticks Up to Series High as FBI Jumps, American Idol Sinks to Series Low [+ Analysis]

NBC comedies St. Denis Medical (0.33, +0.02) and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins (0.30, +0.02) were both up slightly, but The Voice (0.27, -0.01) ticked down. CBS's The Neighborhood (0.41, -0.01) also dipped, while DMV (0.25, 0.00) tied its week-ago installment. Later in the night, FBI (0.35, +0.07) surged, and CIA (0.22, +0.02) rose to a new high. American Idol (0.36, -0.06) dropped significantly on ABC, while The Rookie (0.23, -0.01) had a less dramatic drop. On CBS, The Neighborhood (0.42, +0.11) soared to a new season high, but fellow comedy DMV (0.25, +0.02) only benefited slightly. FBI (0.28, -0.04) slipped at nine, but CIA (0.20, 0.00) matched last week's premiere rating. American Idol (0.42, -0.03) and The Rookie (0.24, -0.04) declined on ABC, while Extracted (0.23, +0.02) and Memory of a Killer (0.13, +0.02) rose on Fox. Wild Cards (0.04, +0.01) ticked up on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat.

Monday TV Ratings 2/23/26: CIA Struggles in Premiere as FBI Surges to Season High, Successful Launch for The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, Memory of a Killer Sinks to a New Low [+ Analysis]

CBS's FBI (0.32, +0.05) jumped to a new season high in its return, but CIA (0.20) dropped noticeably from there for its series debut. The Neighborhood (0.31, +0.09) and DMV (0.23, +0.03) were also up from where they left off in the 8 p.m. hour. On NBC, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins (0.37) had a successful time slot premiere, growing from the pilot encore (0.35) that led into it. At nine, the return of The Voice (0.31) declined from Dinkins. American Idol (0.45, +0.04) and The Rookie (0.28, +0.06) both rose on ABC, but Extracted (0.21, -0.01) and Memory of a Killer (0.11, -0.03) lost momentum on Fox. Wild Cards (0.03, -0.03) slipped on the CW. Key: (P) = premiere.
