FADE IN:
INT. STARSHIP - WINTER’S CLASSROOM - EVENING
Winter sits with Davis at her desk.

DAVIS
Thank you for agreeing to meet with
me today.

WINTER
Thank you for wanting to meet with
me today. I’m honored that someone
wanted to write a report on my
class. I feel like everyone forgets
how important my job is.

DAVIS
Yeah, well, hopefully we can change
that.

WINTER
So, do you have any particular
questions you want to ask me?

DAVIS
Why don’t you tell me about
something you’re teaching?
Something new, maybe relevant?

WINTER
Hmm.

Winter takes a moment to think of the perfect topic. A moment
later, a lightbulb goes off in her head. She’s got it.

WINTER (CONT'D)
Ok, can you promise that you don’t
publish my name in the article you
write about this?

DAVIS
Trust me, you will have total
secrecy.

WINTER
Great, thanks.

Winter takes a deep breath.

WINTER (CONT'D)
So, this topic. They tell me I’m
not suppose to teach about it or
tell the kids about it, even though
they already know about it anyway.

DAVIS
What is it?

WINTER
You’re part of the Night, right?

DAVIS
Well, not officially.

WINTER
So I’m sure you’ve heard about the
theories of the Solar War, right?

DAVIS
I might have.

WINTER
Well, some of the students have as
well. And they ask questions about
it.

DAVIS
Go on.

WINTER
So, we’ve had a lot of good
discussions about it. And the kids
like it. Because it’s real and they
can talk about things that are
taboo around the ship. That’s what
I want people to know about my
class. That I do more than just
prepare the next generation for
work on the ship.

DAVIS
Why don’t you tell me a little more
about exactly what your discussions
on the Solar Wars are.

WINTER
I mean, of course everything is
still a theory right now. We don’t
know how things will actually go
down, or if they will...

DAVIS
And that’s okay. I still want to
hear it.

WINTER
Well, I feel like the Solar Wars is
bound to happen sometime, right?
Maybe it’ll be once we reach the
new colony, but the kids think we
may get caught in it.

DAVIS
Why do they think that?

WINTER
It’s just a theory. They’re not as
educated on the subject as we are.
But they have some good ideas. We
are travelling into the unknown and
we don’t know what lies out there,
or what the Elders’ plans really
are.

DAVIS
So what is the one takeaway you
want printed about your job?

WINTER
That brainwashing isn’t what this
job is. It’s teaching the next
generation to think for themselves.
To ask questions and to not believe
with full certainty everything the
Elders want them to.

CUT TO:
INT. STARSHIP - POOL ROOM - EVENING
Miranda is sitting in the outer area of the Pool Room by the
entrance doors, in her hands she holds the keycard log she
had from the end of the last episode. The room is crowded.
She is talking on the phone.

MIRANDA
Yeah, Davis, if this log is real,
then the Pool Room is the last
place Maxx was the night he died. I
just have to wait for the room to
clear out so I can hack the log and
see who came in here after Maxx
did.
(a beat)
So how did your little rendezvous
with Winter go? Get anything
useful?

CUT TO:
INT. STARSHIP - SCHOOL WING HALLWAY - EVENING - INTERCUTTING
Having just left his meeting with Winter, Davis is walking
down the hallway.

DAVIS
I didn’t get any information out of
her, but I think that can actually
be useful.

INT. STARSHIP - POOL ROOM - EVENING - INTERCUTTING

MIRANDA
How so?

INT. STARSHIP - SCHOOL WING HALLWAY - INTERCUTTING

DAVIS
Well, it told me she was clueless.
The Night thought she was in
cahoots with Wyatt.

INT. STARSHIP - POOL ROOM - INTERCUTTING

MIRANDA
And how do you know she’s not?

INT. STARSHIP - SCHOOL WING HALLWAY - INTERCUTTING

DAVIS
After yesterday, we thought she
might know about whatever Wyatt was
so secretive about last night.
She’s clueless. She probably
doesn’t have a bad bone in her
body.

INT. STARSHIP - POOL ROOM - INTERCUTTING

MIRANDA
That’s good, I guess. Just back to
square one with all this.

INT. STARSHIP - SCHOOL WING HALLWAY - INTERCUTTING

DAVIS
Maybe not. We’ll see how your day
goes, then talk. Talk to you later.

Davis hangs up the phone and walks into the elevator at the
end of the hallway.

CUT TO:
INT. STARSHIP - MERIDIAN’S ROOM - EVENING - MOMENTS LATER
Meridian sits on the bed, relaxed. Davis enters in a swift
motion.

MERIDIAN
Oh, great. You’re here.

DAVIS
You rang? 27 times?

MERIDIAN
Yeah. I had some important stuff I
needed to get off my chest.

Davis sits and joins Meridian on the bed.

DAVIS
Okay. What’s up?

MERIDIAN
I figured like you should know
this. But don’t get mad at me for
not telling you sooner.

DAVIS
What is it?

MERIDIAN
Over the last few weeks, Wyatt has
been having me prepare the ship for
war, or attack.

Davis gasps, he’s shocked.

DAVIS
What? And you didn’t think to tell
me this?

MERIDIAN
I wanted to, but I couldn’t. He
made me promise I wouldn’t tell
anyone.

DAVIS
Then why are you telling me now?

MERIDIAN
After last night, all I know is
Wyatt’s a bad guy. And I don’t want
to be a part of any kind of bad
activity. I wasn’t sure if I was
and I knew you could help me find
out.

Davis sighs, upset.

DAVIS
I might have an idea or two. But
you gotta keep quiet about
it...which evidently, you’re good
at.
(a beat)
Have you ever heard of the Solar
Wars?

Meridian shakes his head no.

DAVIS (CONT'D)
Then you’re in for a vile treat.

CUT TO:
INT. STARSHIP - THE ELDERS’ QUARTERS - NIGHT
Eli sits at the Elders’ Table.

ELI
Thank you all for agreeing to meet
with me on such short notice. You
know I would not call you here
unless it was of extreme
importance.

ELDER 1
Of course, Mr. Elara.

ELDER 3
Please get on with whatever it is
you have called us here for.

ELI
At your request, the ship is
finally ready.

ELDER 4
It is?

ELDER 2
So soon?

ELI
Yes. All of the proper improvements
have been made and installed.
Starship is the best it possibly
can be.

ELDER 5
And have you spoken with the
Circuit Leaders?

ELI
Yes. I’ve determined where
loyalties lie and have gotten a
good feel on the leaders.

ELDER 1
Will there be any major problems?

ELI
No, none. The Circuit Leaders know
who they are speaking with.

ELDER 3
Then that is all?

ELI
Yes, I just thought you should
know.
(a beat)
However, I still have not been able
to get the Lower Levels into
working order. They have been quiet
the last couple of weeks, but they
aren’t happy.

ELDER 4
Do not worry about them. Thanks to
your update, we now know they have
served their purpose.

ELDER 2
Thank you. You may leave.

Eli stands up and begins to leave. Before he completely
leaves the room, he stops.

ELI
Are you sure you want to do this?

ELDER 4
Nonsense.

ELDER 5
You mustn't question us or our
logic.

ELI
I just hope you know that if we
really do this, if we really go
into this...nothing will ever be
the same again.

CUT TO:
INT. STARSHIP - WINTER’S ROOM - NIGHT
Winter walks into her room. It’s dark, with the only light
coming from the window, where the galaxy lights up her room.
She walks into her bathroom and turns on the light. She turns
on the shower water and walks back into her room. She sits on
her bed to get undressed.
On her nightstand, she sees a note. She picks it up. Written
on a piece of paper is the following note “TRUST NO ONE,
REMEMBER EVERYTHING. THE TRUTH IS NOT FAR BURIED IN YOUR OWN
MIND. SIGNED-YOU.”
Winter gasps. She’s shocked and does not know where this came
from.

CUT TO:
INT. STARSHIP - CAPTAIN’S ROOM - NIGHT
Annica is pacing the Captain’s Quarters, worried. Eli walks
in, having come back from his meeting with the Elders. Annica
rushes to him, worried.

ANNICA
Eli, where were you?!

ELI
I--uh--I went for a walk.

ANNICA
I’ve been trying to get a hold of
you for an hour. It’s bad. I
thought you were--

Eli pulls Annica into a hug.

ELI
Hey, calm down. What’s wrong?

When Annica talks, she sounds extremely distraught and sad.

ANNICA
I recently got a message from Nova.
It’s bad. Real bad.

ELI
What is it?

ANNICA
There was another gas leak. But
only in the Lower Level.
An expression of shock and horror goes across Eli’s face.

ELI
Oh my god.

ANNICA
There were no survivors.

CUT TO:
INT. STARSHIP - POOL ROOM - LATE NIGHT
Miranda is still pacing the Pool Room, waiting for it to
clear out. She is sitting by the door, waiting. Finally, the
last two people towel off and leave the room. She eagerly
stands up.

MIRANDA
Finally.
Miranda walks over to the electronic keycard scanner on the
wall. Above the scanner is a log of the last visitors.
She pulls a wire and device out of her pocket and plugs the
other end of the wire into the key card mechanism.
The screen lets out a few beeps before spinning. After a
beat, “ACCESS GRANTED” appears on the screen. She’s in.

MIRANDA (CONT'D)
Bingo.
Miranda begins typing in the date Maxx was killed on her
device. On the screen, the date pops up as well.

MIRANDA (CONT'D)
Ok, here we go. The night Maxx was
killed.

She begins searching through the log of people on the screen.
The screen flies down and down, to the end of the day.
We see “MAXX MORGANS” appear on the screen at the end of the
day.

MIRANDA (CONT'D)
Almost there.

She continues scrolling. And then she gets to the name. The
last person who went in the room that night. The person who
went in after Maxx, his supposed killer.
A look of horror appears on her face, and she gasps. Shocked,
she drops the device and takes a step back. A tear falls on
her face.

MIRANDA (CONT'D)
Oh my god.

CLOSE ON THE SCREEN: We see the name “WINTER ELARA”
Off of this shocking and confusing revelation, we end our
episode. What’s the truth? What’s left to tell? Lots. Find
out next week in our epic finale you cannot miss.
